Vermont

I took my camera on a recent trip to Vermont.

Challenged myself to focus on depth of field. These are two of my favorites.

I bet you can't guess what little man inspired me to take these.......

Hippity Hoppity

Here is a favorite from Easter......and a personal accomplishment. This picture has no editing -not even a crop. I love it!!!

As opposed to the 45 other pictures from Easter that either did require editing or were so dark that they weren't even worth it. I had a frustrating day with my SLR, and even gave up at one point and pulled out my point n shoot. I think it's time that I realize, I am either using the wrong focal point to get the correct exposure or I need to overcompensate by a few tick marks on my meter??

Anyway......here are few other favorites, that did require some "extra care", or post-editing.

A smile starts on the lips,

A grin spreads to the eyes,

A chuckle comes from the belly;

But a good laugh bursts forth from the soul, overflows, and bubbles all around. ~Carolyn Birmingham

Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall

I remember the excitement that I felt inside when I was taking this picture. I kept looking at the image over and over again in camera. When I downloaded it, it did not dissappoint. I could hardly believe that this was taken in manual mode, and I had captured this adorable little boy doing one of his most favorite tasks - "brush teeth". My heart melts to watch the joy over accomplishing a daily task and his loving Daddy giving a helping hand.

You and Your Camera

“There is only you and your camera. The limitations in your photography are in yourself, for what you see is what you are." ~Ernst Haas

I could not think of a more appropriate or challenging way for me to begin my blog. You see, I recently attended a photography class that has further opened my eyes to my love of the camera. The recommendation is to start a blog, a journey of photography.

So, here I am. At the beginning of a journey and hoping, desperately hoping to challenge myself. I expect that the limitations will be endless.......
